Costs and income

I think the whole costs/income structure needs tweaking.

It doesn't seem quite right at the moment.

Playing as the Patriots I am getting around 10 income per turn, my upkeep every other turn is about 14ish.

I haven't bought any new units, just trying to get my existing units up to full strength. I am on turn 11 and I still have a need for 11 replacement elements.

But the cost of units versus how much replacements are looks wrong as well. It costs 2RP for a single replacement element, yet I can buy a new 2 or 3 element unit for only 1RP. The gamey thing to do would be buy the new units as soon as they become available and disband the existing understrength units when you can't afford to pay for their maintenance.

I know money is meant to be tight for the Patriots, but this just seems like it needs changing a bit. I think cost of new units should be increased and the cost of replacement elements be reduced.

I have answered in other thread, but yes, we are in the same line.

Playing as the Royalists with the latest version.

I don't think the Patriots are spending any money......

I am on turn 17 and they now have 68 resources in the bank. I have nothing.

Edit  Patriot AI is not paying any maintenance

bad news, this should have been fixed.  So I reopen the issue

I think the Royalists need more income.

Up to turn 22 now and I still have about 15 replacements needed for my existing forces. I haven't been able to play the Cantabria Regiment card or the Gerona detachment card as I haven't had enough resources. I haven't been able to buy any units for about 15 turns as money is so short. My maintenance is costing me nearly all my income each turn and has been for ages....

And how much income do you have and wich of the regions you own are giving you income?

If the AI is not spending money, maybe you are taking all the enemy regions.

In that game I had taken all of the south, couldn't get very far north though, my army there couldn't break through. I was therefore getting more income than normal and still couldn't get my units up to strength or get the new units from Spain.

I was watching the Patriot AI turns and you could see their money go up in the income phase, but it didn't go down at all, no maintenance was paid.

I am now playing as the Patriots and I am getting maintenace costs every turn. I can see that the Royalist AI is not having the same issue with lack of funds as I did.

It looks like both sides when controlled by the computer are getting helped a great deal resource wise.

Playing as Royalists, Mexico scenario. It feels like there is not enough income for the Royalists. When you get the reinforcements on turn 1 you have a maintenance of 12 per turn, income is only 11 because of  Patriot incursions. I am on turn 4 and have had to lose an element of a unit every turn so far as I am one short of the maintenance required.

I see, Im also testing a game in that scenario, focused on the income balance.

Still see AI Patriots not paying maintenance. They are buying cards though. I never have done this as either side, I don't think the AI should be :)
