Game seems to play well. There is some uncertainty on my part with regard to how to manage stacking. I do see the rules and they are great, but how do I move a leader and a few units to support. A bit of challenge for me, but I think the game works.

I continue to enjoy the game. Playing Battle Axe as the Allies. I am not very good at manuveur and managing but gaining ground. I just found that breakthough is a move and was puzzled at what to do. I think I figured out how to go forward, but it was not intuitive and I found no reference in how to do this.

I am working on the manual now, but there are already some explanations inside the WW manual: basically, breakthrough occurs after a victorious battle where the enemy was routed (usually, but not mandatory) AND you have armored/mechanized or motorized units able to break through (the info should also be in the tooltip of units later). Note that some planes (Stukas, Hurricanes F/B) may 'follow' breakthroughs.

When one occurs, you click on ONE region among those proposed in the yellow-colored view that you see: the units able will move there automatically, and another battle will take place IF enemy is also present at the target breakthrough region.

As for now, Brits in the 1940 scenario, and Axis in all other scenarios may breakthrough twice in the same turn, otherwise a breakthrough-created battle does not allow another breakthrough.

Yes, nice. Now I see. Breakthrough is very dynamic.

I am really getting to enjoy this game. It is complex, yes, but very much like the old Avalon Hill boardgame, Africa Korps. Nice unit density and the mechanics make sense. So far, just learning, but nice.

I am not sure where this comment goes, but so far AI seems to be a competent opponent, understanding that some of my opponents would contend without any AI I would still struggle to win, I find playing as the Axis in the Africa Korps first advance, Rommel must be careful in handling his Italian allies and even his Germans as the British have decent AI capability. The Greece campaign saved my bacon and allowed me to reorganize.

Good news. I suppose you played the full 1941 campaign

Yes, but without enough understanding to identify glitches. But it went pretty smoothly. I really like the innovation, for me at least, of vp penalty for playing certain cards.

So I wonder if AI ever attacks or makes an attack. So far in all my play, only the faction I am controlling makes attacks. This does not mean AI is doing badly, it is doing fine, but I have not seen it making an attack in any scenario I have played.

AI will attack at times. 

The "default players" [the ones going first in each scenario] are the aggressors.  AI will counteratttack later....

Most of the "second chair" AI settings are "defend" in early game  of each scenario .

I've been clobbered by AI counterattack when testing BattleAxe, where Axis pushed me back beyond my starting line!
